Dejavoo P1 Android countertop payment terminal with built-in printer

The Dejavoo P1 is an Android countertop POS terminal with a bright touchscreen, a built-in thermal printer, and Wi-Fi or Ethernet connectivity. It accepts EMV chip, contactless tap, magstripe swipe, and mobile wallets — everything you need at a single counter. This Dejavoo P1 quick start walks you through setup from the moment you open the box to your first successful test sale.

Before you begin, have three things ready: your Wi-Fi network name and password (or an Ethernet cable), your merchant terminal ID (TID), and a roll of thermal receipt paper. With those on hand, work through the steps below in order and your P1 will be live and ready for customers.

1Unbox and connect power

  1. Start your Dejavoo P1 quick start by unpacking the box and confirming everything arrived: the P1 Android countertop terminal, the power adapter, a starter roll of thermal receipt paper, and any Ethernet cable you ordered. Inspect the touchscreen and printer bay for shipping damage before you power on.
  2. Plug the power adapter into the P1 and into a surge-protected outlet, then press and hold the power button until the screen lights up. Let the Android POS fully boot to its home screen before you touch any settings — the P1 loads its payment app on first launch.

2Connect Wi-Fi or Ethernet

  1. The P1 needs an internet connection to activate. For Wi-Fi, open Settings from the home screen, tap your network name, and enter the password exactly — it is case-sensitive. Wait for the signal icon to confirm the terminal is online before moving on.
  2. For a wired connection, plug an Ethernet cable into the P1's LAN port and the terminal pulls a network address automatically. Ethernet is the most reliable choice for a busy countertop, so use it when a jack is available. A stable connection is the foundation of the whole Dejavoo P1 setup.

3Activate and download your profile

  1. With the P1 online, download the profile that links the terminal to your merchant account and processor. Open the setup or download menu, enter your terminal ID (TID) if prompted, and start the parameter download. The P1 contacts the host, pulls your configuration, and reboots.
  2. After it restarts, the terminal is activated and ready to accept live cards. If the download stalls, confirm your connection and TID and try again. Our Puerto Rico team can push your profile remotely if you get stuck at this step.

4Load receipt paper

  1. The P1 has a built-in thermal printer. Open the printer bay on top of the terminal, drop the paper roll in so it feeds from the bottom of the roll, and pull a short tail past the cutter before closing the lid firmly.
  2. If receipts print blank, the roll is likely upside down — thermal paper only prints on one side, so flip it and reseat. A quick self-test print confirms the printer is ready before your first sale.

5Configure taxes and tips

  1. Tailor the P1 to how you sell. In the payment app settings, enter your Puerto Rico sales tax rate so the terminal calculates and prints tax on each receipt, and add your business name, address, and phone to the receipt header.
  2. If you accept gratuity — common for restaurants, salons, and bars — enable the tip prompt and set suggested percentages such as 15%, 18%, and 20%. Turn on tip adjustment so staff can add gratuity after the sale settles.

6Run a test sale

  1. Before your first customer, ring up a small test amount to confirm every read method works. Insert an EMV chip card, tap a contactless card or mobile wallet, and swipe a magstripe card to verify chip, tap, and swipe all read cleanly on the P1.
  2. Void or refund the test right away so it does not settle. Confirm the receipt prints with the correct tax, tip, and totals. A successful test sale is the final checkpoint that your Dejavoo P1 quick start is complete.

7Reprint a receipt

  1. Need another copy? From the P1 payment app, open the reprint or transactions menu and choose the last receipt or search by amount or reference number. The built-in printer produces a duplicate merchant or customer copy on demand.
  2. This is handy when a customer wants a receipt after they have left the counter or when a print job jams mid-run — no need to re-run the sale.

8Settle and batch out

  1. At the end of each business day, settle your batch so the day's approved transactions are sent for funding. Open the batch or settlement menu and confirm the total matches your records, then run the settlement.
  2. Batching daily keeps your deposits on schedule and your reporting clean. The P1 prints a settlement report you can file or reconcile against your statement.

9Troubleshooting

  1. If the P1 will not connect, restart your router and re-enter the Wi-Fi password, watching for a wrong character, or switch to Ethernet. If activation fails, verify your TID and re-run the profile download on a stronger signal. Declined test cards usually mean activation did not finish.
  2. For blank or jammed receipts, reopen the printer bay and reseat the roll so it feeds from the bottom. If anything still looks off, reach out — local support means you talk to a real person who knows Puerto Rico merchants.

Dejavoo P1 Quick Start FAQ

How long does Dejavoo P1 quick start take?

Most merchants finish a Dejavoo P1 setup in about 15 to 20 minutes. Unboxing, connecting Wi-Fi or Ethernet, and downloading your profile go quickly once you have your network password and terminal ID on hand. Loading paper, setting taxes and tips, and running a test sale add a few more minutes.

Does the Dejavoo P1 need Wi-Fi, or can it use Ethernet?

Either works. The P1 is an Android countertop terminal with both Wi-Fi and wired Ethernet. Ethernet is the most reliable choice for a busy counter, while Wi-Fi is convenient when a network jack is not nearby. You only need one working connection to activate and process payments.

What payment types does the Dejavoo P1 accept?

The P1 accepts EMV chip, contactless tap, and magstripe swipe, plus mobile wallets like Apple Pay and Google Pay. Its touchscreen and built-in printer let you complete a sale and hand over a receipt without any extra hardware.

Why is my Dejavoo P1 test sale declined?

A declined test sale usually means activation is incomplete. Re-run the profile download, confirm the terminal is online, and verify your terminal ID. If it still declines, contact our Puerto Rico support team and we can push your profile remotely and check your account status.
