The Dejavoo P18 is an Android 13 wireless smart terminal built around a bright 10.95-inch flip touchscreen with a hidden customer-facing second screen, an octa-core processor, and connectivity for 4G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Ethernet. It reads chip, contactless, and magstripe cards plus QR codes and mobile wallets, and its built-in camera and scanner make it a true all-in-one device. This Dejavoo P18 quick start gets it live fast.
Before you begin, have three things ready: your Wi-Fi network name and password (or an installed SIM for 4G), your merchant terminal ID (TID), and a fully charged battery. With those in hand, work through the steps below in order and your P18 will be ready for customers.
1Charge the battery and power on
- Begin your Dejavoo P18 quick start by charging the terminal fully before first use. Connect the included USB-C adapter and let the battery reach 100% — this can take a couple of hours out of the box. The P18 is a wireless Android 13 terminal with a large 10.95-inch flip touchscreen, so a full charge keeps it running through a busy shift untethered.
- Press and hold the power button until the Dejavoo logo appears, then wait for Android to finish loading to the home screen. If the display stays dark, leave it on the charger for a few minutes and try again — a deeply drained battery needs a short charge before it will boot.
2Connect Wi-Fi, 4G, or Ethernet
- The P18 gives you every option: Wi-Fi, 4G cellular, Bluetooth, and wired Ethernet. For Wi-Fi, open Settings, tap your network name, and type the password carefully — it is case-sensitive — until the signal icon confirms the terminal is online.
- If you have a SIM installed, the octa-core P18 will connect over 4G automatically wherever there is coverage, which is ideal for line-busting or mobile checkout. For a fixed counter, plug an Ethernet cable into the dock and the terminal pulls an address on its own. Confirm one solid connection before moving on.
3Activate and download your profile
- With the terminal online, download your merchant profile — the parameters that tie the P18 to your account and processor. Open the setup or download app, start the profile download, and let the device contact the host and reboot.
- After it restarts the terminal is activated and ready to accept live cards. If the download stalls, recheck your connection and terminal ID (TID). Our Puerto Rico team can push your P18 profile remotely if you get stuck here.
4Position the flip screen for the customer
- The P18's signature feature is its flip touchscreen with a hidden customer-facing second screen. Flip or rotate the display toward the shopper when it is time to pay so they can see the amount, tap their card or phone, and add a tip in full view.
- Set the terminal at the edge of your counter where the customer can comfortably reach the screen and the contactless zone. A good position makes tap, chip, and QR payments faster and reduces reach-over at the register.
5Run a test sale — chip, tap, swipe, QR, and wallet
- Before your first customer, ring up a small test sale to confirm every read method works. Insert a chip card, tap a contactless card or phone for NFC, swipe a magstripe card, and scan a QR-code payment to check the P18's camera and scanner.
- The P18 accepts IC chip, NFC contactless, magstripe, QR codes, and mobile wallets like Apple Pay and Google Pay. Void or refund the test right away so it does not settle, and confirm the receipt totals look correct across all methods.
6Print, reprint, and settle your batch
- After a sale, the P18 prints or emails the receipt based on your settings. To reprint the last receipt, open the transactions or receipt menu and choose reprint — useful when a customer asks for a duplicate copy.
- At the end of the day, run settlement to close your batch and send the day's transactions for funding. Open the batch or settle menu and confirm the totals; a successful settle is the sign your Dejavoo P18 quick start is fully complete.
7Troubleshooting common issues
- If the P18 will not connect, toggle Wi-Fi off and on, re-enter the password, or switch to 4G to confirm the terminal itself is fine. A failed profile download almost always means a weak signal or a wrong TID — retry on a stronger connection.
- If a card is declined during your test, the profile download likely did not finish, so run it again. For a frozen screen, hold the power button to restart. Still stuck? Reach a real person on our local Puerto Rico support line instead of an overseas queue.
